Her background as an adventure park trainer and volunteer member of the Alpine Rescue has strengthened her teamwork, adaptability, and ability to remain calm and effective in demanding situations. Born in Bari, Italy, in 1971, Alessandro Sasso is a seasoned yacht captain with over 20 years’ experience and more than 50,000 nautical miles sailed worldwide.
Captain of S/Y Jikan since 2019, he maintains the yacht to “new-build” standards, ensuring exceptional safety, reliability, and performance, and delivering a seamless onboard experience.
After early roles in telecommunications and construction, he entered yachting in 2003 following an ocean crossing. He later worked as Captain and Project Manager on yacht builds across Asia and has commanded both sailing and motor yachts in private and charter operations, collaborating with renowned brands such as Wally, Nautor’s Swan, and Baltic Yachts.
An intuitive host, he tailors each voyage—from relaxed cruising to more dynamic sailing—always with a strong focus on safety, comfort, and high-end service.

With a solid background in hospitality and food service, he understands the importance of delivering attentive service, maintaining high standards, and contributing positively to both the guest experience and crew dynamic. Having balanced full-time employment with university studies in Denmark while living independently from the age of 18, he has developed discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic. An active and practical individual, he enjoys physically demanding environments and has a genuine passion for the outdoors. As a volunteer member of the Italian Civil Protection, he has further strengthened his teamwork, reliability, and sense of responsibility. Committed to learning and eager to gain hands-on experience on deck, he is motivated to develop his seamanship skills and progress within the industry, with the long-term goal of becoming a Bosun.
